Privacy Policy
The short version: OneThing runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers.
Your focus sessions, streaks, blocked-app list, and notes never leave your phone. If you uninstall OneThing, all of that data is deleted along with the app.
1. Who we are
OneThing (the "app") is developed by Santhosh Kumar, operating as SanJan, based in Chennai, India. You can reach us at usefuldailyapps@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. OneThing has no backend server, no user accounts, and no telemetry. We do not record your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any device identifier.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or social-login providers.
3. Information that stays on your device
OneThing stores the following on your phone, in a local database that only the app itself can read. None of this is transmitted anywhere.
- The display name you optionally enter when you open the app
- Focus sessions you complete — the task description, duration, category, and timestamps
- Your daily and best streaks
- Custom categories you create
- The list of Android package names you have chosen to block during focus sessions
- Your preferences (theme override, notification settings, toggles)
- Aggregated weekly statistics OneThing computes on-device
You can erase all of this at any time by uninstalling the app or by clearing the app's storage from Android's Settings → Apps → OneThing → Storage.
4. Android permissions we request
OneThing asks for the permissions below only to provide the features you have opted in to. Each one is optional — declining them simply disables the corresponding feature, never the whole app.
Used to remind you about your streak if you have not started a focus session by your chosen time. Notifications are scheduled locally; no push server is involved.
If you enable the in-session app blocker, OneThing needs to know which app is currently in the foreground so it can pull you back to the timer if you wander into a blocked app. The usage data is read on demand, used only for the comparison, and never stored or uploaded.
Used by the in-session app blocker to draw the focus reminder over the blocked app's screen until you return to OneThing.
If you enable Do Not Disturb during focus sessions, OneThing toggles the system DND state on at the start of a session and off at the end. We do not read or modify any other notification setting.
Keeps the timer running and the screen-status callbacks alive while a focus session is in progress. No network activity occurs.
5. Third-party services
None. OneThing does not integrate with Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Crashlytics, AppsFlyer, Branch, or any other third-party SDK that would transmit data off your device.
OneThing is distributed through the Google Play Store. Google may collect aggregated installation statistics in its role as the distributor. That data is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
6. In-app purchases
OneThing offers an optional one-time "lifetime support" purchase. When you make that purchase, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details. Google's billing records are governed by Google's privacy policy.
7. Children
OneThing is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Because OneThing collects no personal data, no special handling is required under children's privacy laws.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy — for example, to describe a new optional feature — we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and publish the new policy at the same URL. Material changes will also be announced in the app's update notes on Google Play.
